چکیده
Vascular malformations include several vascular abnormalities, congenital in most cases, classified according to their dynamic flow characteristics into high-flow and low-flow abnormalities; both types are commonly located in the head and neck region. Imaging modalities such as Echocolor-Doppler, CT, and MRI can be employed in the evaluation of vascular malformations’ in order to describe their size, flow velocity, flow direction, and relationship with the surrounding structures, and, even more important, to differentiate between different types of malformations, since treatment modalities differ depending on their nature (lowvs high-flow).

Evaluation and Treatment of Musculoskeletal Vascular Anomalies in Children: An Update and Summary for Orthopaedic Surgeons
The majority of vascular anomalies can be categorized as either hemangiomas or vascular malformations. Hemangiomas are the most common benign soft tissue tumors of childhood, occurring in 4%–10% of children [16]. Vascular malformations represent a separate group of congenital vascular anomalies. Both hemangiomas and vascular malformations are often located deep to the deep fascia in the trunk a...

BACKGROUND Hemangioma is the most common tumor of neonatal period and it is almost always appeared by the end of the first week of life and can be found mostly in head and neck area. This study evaluated the synergistic effect of bleomycin, triamcinolone and epinephrine in treatment of hemangioma and arte-riovenous malformations. METHODS In this multicenter study, a combination of bleomycin,...
متن کاملA case report and brief review of the literature of an unusual vascular malformation: linear verrucous hemangioma
Verrucous hemangiomas (VH) are uncommon, congenital vascular malformations of the cutaneous and subcutaneous tissues that spare the deeper subfacial structures. VH usually presents at birth and slowly grows with age. It usually presents as hyperkeratotic, scattered, bluish-red plaques or nodules of various sizes. Although the lesions mostly have a linear pattern, serpiginous and reticulat...

Hemangiomas are considered as vascular malformations which are categorized by the type of vascular channel to capillary, cavernous, venous or arteriovenous(1). Their usual locations are soft tissue , cutaneous or subcutaneous tissue and bone especially vertebra(2).However, intradural extramedullary hemangiomas are rare and most of them fall in cavernous type category. Hereby, authors report a w...

F acial vascular malformations can cause dental emergencies that result in fatal or life-threatening and disfiguring situations. 14 Dentists must be aware of the clinical manifestations of these lesions in order to prevent iatrogenically related accidents and to minimize potential spontaneous crises for the patient. Effective treatment depends on the type and location of vascular lesion. Litera...
